Highlights

•    PTB was significantly associated with traffic air pollutant NO2 exposure during pregnancy.
•    The effect of NO2 exposure in the conception month and 1st trimester was more important.
•    Indoor mold/damp stains in pregnancy was also related with an increased risk of PTB.
•    There is a significant interaction between outdoor NO2 and indoor mold/damp stains on PTB.
•    Sensitive populations were more susceptible to the PTB risk of outdoor and indoor air pollution.
